Highland Cattle Experiences — Highlands of Vernor, Somerset Region
Feed, Brush & Fall in Love with the Highland Cows of Vernor
Just minutes from Fernvale, Highlands of Vernor is a working Highland cattle property in the heart of the Somerset Region — a stunning backdrop for an intimate, hands-on experience with these gentle, shaggy-coated giants.
I'm thrilled to offer one-on-one Highland cow photography experiences at this beautiful property, right on my doorstep. You'll spend time feeding, brushing and walking alongside the herd, while I capture the connection between you and these incredible animals.
Whether you're after an intimate portrait, a relaxed family session, or something a little more special — I've captured a few proposals among the herd here too — Highlands of Vernor offers a picturesque Somerset Region setting for whatever you have in mind.
A $200 farm experience fee is paid directly to the farmer at Highlands of Vernor to help cover the ongoing care of the cattle, and secures your preferred date and time. Photography packages are chosen and paid for separately after your session, once you've viewed your gallery — with three options to choose from, starting at $650 for 10 digital images.
FARM ADDRESS IS AVAILABLE ONCE A BOOKING IS MADE.

Meet Your Highland Cow Farmer - Ash
Hi, I'm Ashleigh! Alongside my husband Aaron, our two wonderful children, and our beloved Highland cows, we proudly represent Highlands of Vernor, nestled in the heart of Somerset, Fernvale, Queensland.
Beyond being a dedicated mother to both humans and coos, my passion lies in Emergency Nursing, where I've spent over a decade caring for others. Aaron and I are lifelong locals, and when the opportunity arose to expand our home, we knew Highland cows were the perfect fit.
Why Highlands? Well, what's not to love? From their majestic horns and shaggy fringes to their soft noses, fluffy coats, and gentle nature, these incredible animals are more than just farm livestock-they're family. With love, patience, and care, they thrive on human connection and become affectionate companions.
Since starting our registered fold in 2021, we've been on an exciting journey, and we're thrilled to welcome our first baby Highland calves in 2025! As proud members of the Australian Highland Cattle Society, we are dedicated to preserving and promoting this remarkable breed.
Proudly welcoming families from Brisbane, Ipswich, Fernvale, Esk, Gatton, Laidley, Toowoomba, the Lockyer Valley, Somerset Region, Scenic Rim, Gold Coast and all surrounding areas — come and meet my beautiful Highland herd at Highlands of Vernor, just five minutes from Fernvale.
