Welcome to Highland Cows of Vernor, located on the outskirts of Fernvale.

Located just five minutes from Fernvale, Highlands of Vernor offers a one-of-a-kind Highland cow photography experience with K n J Photography, perfect for creating treasured family photos. Get ready for a fun-filled, hands-on adventure where your family can interact with these majestic Highland cattle. Known for their iconic long, flowing coats and impressive horns, these "fluffy cows" love to get up close for a cuddle or a lick behind the ear! You’ll get the chance to feed, brush, and lead these gentle giants while K n J Photography captures every authentic, joyful moment. With a focus on family farm photoshoots and immersive experiences, this session promises beautiful, lasting memories set in the heart of Queensland's natural landscape. Book today and secure a unique family adventure that you'll cherish forever!

There is a $200 fee to book at your preferred time and date. This amount is paid through K n J, directly to the farmer to help cover ongoing maintenance costs regarding the cattle themselves. Digital Packages start at just $650.

What do packages start at after I have had my  Highland Cow Experience + Photoshoot?

 $200 is due upon booking to secure your experience with the cows, this goes to the farmers.

Digital packages are chosen and paid for the week after your cow encounter and start at $650.

Kelly is such an amazing and professional photographer. I have 3 boys on the spectrum and 1 in particular is especially tricky in new situations, unfamiliar people and unknown environments. With Kelly's calm nature and relaxed approach, we were able to come away with not only a magical highland cow experience, but also a gallery of amazing, authentic shots. Kelly gave us a safe space where I could gently navigate my heightened son through something beautiful and had such a quick turn around getting all the images up for selection. We loved our experience with Kelly and absolutely adore the organic photos she captured for us x.

I SIMPLY CANNOT! I dont even know where to start!! 🥺 Kelly is ABSOLUTELY amazing. Her work is beyond this planet and she makes you feel so comfortable during the session. We did a family photo shoot with the Highland Cows experience and honestly, THE BEST THING I have ever done. The images are PERFECT, it was such an amazing experience, and well worth it. Our shoot was Saturday afternoon, Monday we had the proofs and Tuesday we had the completed final images!! So so fast. Kelly is so easy to talk to, she stays in communication with you before, during and after the shoot and I honestly can not recommend her enough! If you are looking for a photographer for your family photos who doesnt make things awkward and youre looking for someone chill and not so strictly structred, Kelly is your gal! And dont forget the highland cow encounters because OH MY GOD 😍 2025

Firstly the communication was excelent, then the photo session we hate getting photos done but you didnt feel like it was. Kelly made you feel comfortable, she was friendly and we absolutely loved the finished product. It was so hard to pick the photos we wanted because we loved them all and would have brought all of them if we could. Highly recommend, we will be going back.

Meet Your Highland Cow Farmer - Ash

Hi, I'm Ashleigh! Alongside my husband Aaron, our two wonderful children, and our beloved Highland cows, we proudly represent Highlands of Vernor, nestled in the heart of Somerset, Fernvale, Queensland.

Beyond being a dedicated mother to both humans and coos, my passion lies in Emergency Nursing, where I've spent over a decade caring for others. Aaron and I are lifelong locals, and when the opportunity arose to expand our home, we knew Highland cows were the perfect fit.

Why Highlands? Well, what's not to love? From their majestic horns and shaggy fringes to their soft noses, fluffy coats, and gentle nature, these incredible animals are more than just farm livestock-they're family. With love, patience, and care, they thrive on human connection and become affectionate companions.

Since starting our registered fold in 2021, we've been on an exciting journey, and we're thrilled to welcome our first baby Highland calves in 2025! As proud members of the Australian Highland Cattle Society, we are dedicated to preserving and promoting this remarkable breed.
